Boat Fishing
In-shore: Mission Bay, San Diego Bay, La Jolla Kelp, or Point Loma Kelp for yellowtail, white sea bass, halibut, rock fish, sand bass, calico bass, barracuda, and bonita.
Off-shore: Coronado Islands, Off-shore Kelp Patties, Off-shore Structures for albacore, yellowfin, yellowtail, dorado, sharks, and marlin.
Kayak Fishing
Only Fish Doc has custom gear to deploy up to 2 kayaks for in-shore or off-shore fishing trips in San Diego. Save time motoring to fishing grounds, avoid the dangers of landing a kayak in the surf at beaches, and get ongoing support from the boat. Want to kayak fish at the Coronados? I can drop us at Pukey Point, move us to Middle Grounds, and then to Ribbon Kelp. Or we can move to outside and hop patties. Nobody else can do that. Check out the video to see how I do it.
Eco Tours
Recreate, enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery of San Diego, and observe animals in their natural environments. Stay in the boat or paddle along in a kayak to get even closer. See dolphins, seals, sea lions, stingrays, sea gulls, pelicans, or massive gray whales. Watching these animals in their own environment is exhilarating and very different than seeing them at an aquarium park. The most exciting part of the charter is that you never know what you will encounter.
Parent-Child Bonding
Want a special opportunity to bond with your child? Don’t want to deal with the rowdy crowds or drunk patrons on piers or open charter boats? A private charter can be the perfect opportunity for a quality parent-child bonding adventure.
Sight-Seeing
Relax and take in the view of the San Diego skyline from the harbor. Make your way under the Coronado Bridge. Get up close to the Navy ships (well, at least as close as they will let us get). Take a boat ride to and from lunch or dinner for your next special occasion.
Team Building
Why do a team building seminar in a board room when you can do it on the water? Fish Doc Charters has a strategic relationship with Learning Designs, Inc, an industry-leading training company serving small and Fortune 500 companies alike for decades. Their staff can perform a needs assessment, create a unique team building training agenda, or simply suggest a structured team building seminar for your employees. Once a team building seminar is designed on land, it can be delivered during a charter. This is a great asset to your company and a great way to reward your employees.
Counseling on the Water
Fish Doc Charters has an exclusive agreement with Specialty Behavioral Health to provide psychological counseling services onboard the Wolverine. The counseling can occur during any type of charter activity (fishing, eco tour, or sight-seeing). Being on the water can provide a shift in mindset, allowing people to open up and deal with problems, secrets, or grief. Because the trips are longer than traditional office visits, the person can take his or her time and talk about things in a less pressured environment. The trips are billed per hour, and there is a 2 hour minimum. A pre-charter screening is required to assess needs and complete paperwork. Ethical and legal guidelines for counseling are observed and the service provided is equal to professional counseling in an office. Interested persons are encouraged to call or email for more specific information.
Note: Unless counseling services are prearranged, the captain does not counsel or practice psychology during the charters.
